In the centre of a ten hectare estate, on the top of a hill, dotted with secular olive trees, there stands, built in 1902 a peculiar rural home, half manor, half oil mill, named La Fazenda sul Colle.

We are in the Roman Sabina, where, in the golden age of ancient Rome, noble patricians used to build their villas with annexed oil mills and stores.
This practice was well known to the Bennicelli family who, at the end of the nineteenth century, bought the estate and the rural home. The Bennicelli enriched its architecture by adding a ramp on a stone arch, to make it easier to carry the olives to the stores on the upper level and from there let them fall trough the mill and make oil.

The property remained unchanged until 2009, when the descendants of the family decided to entrust the restoration with a Roman architect specialised in Bio Architecture and in regeneration plans of disused working places.
The casetta and the casona, both with a spectacular all around view, going from the Lucretili to the Soratte mountains and offering guests a unique and almost mystic experience.
